What is Premature Ejaculation?

Premature ejaculation is when you can’t control when you ejaculate, and come before you are ready. Things like chemical imbalances in the brain, overstimulation, and performance anxiety can cause premature ejaculation.

So how do you fix it? The first step is seeking help from a medical practitioner, like your general practitioner. If you don’t have a GP or aren’t comfortable discussing this with your doctor, I would recommend checking out Mens Health Downunder. They work all around Australia, helping men with sensitive health problems.

Below you will find some examples of the main techniques or options to help with premature ejaculation.

Breathing Techniques

The number one piece of advice is don’t hold your breath. This will just make your body tense and more reactive. Instead, try slow controlled breathing and slow stimulation to avoid overstimulating yourself. You could even try some meditation exercises to help with any performance or general anxieties.

Numbing Creams

You would need to speak with a professional, but another helpful technique is using numbing sprays or creams. When applied in advance, they can help prolong ejaculation by reducing sensation. Obviously, the big issue with this is the reduced sensation and how that can also reduce your enjoyment. There are lots of numbing creams and sprays available on the market, so definitely talk to your doctor before purchasing any to ensure it’s safe to use and the right option for you.

Medication

Lastly, there is prescription medication. While there isn’t anything on the market that directly helps with premature ejaculation, there are a few medications, like some antidepressants, that have the classic side effect of prolonging ejaculation, and some of them are even short-acting acting so you only need to take them as needed. However, as these are prescription medications, you will need to discuss with your doctor what is right for you.

I hope that after reading this, you’ve found some useful advice and feel confident in asking your GP for help if you need it. When you think of a dungeon master, you probably think of a strong man or woman clad in leather ordering you to your knees. But for me, dungeon masters are very different. I think of one of my friends sitting at the head of a large table, weaving a fantastical world for me to explore in a game of Dungeons & Dragons. So, let’s have a look at the similarities between BDSM and D&D.

Roleplay

Whether you’re playing Dungeons & Dragons with your friends or playing out your hottest fantasies with your mistress, you are probably engaging in some roleplaying. Roleplay can be intimidating if you’ve never done it before, but my top tips are ‘fake it till you make it’ and ‘keep it simple’. A good mistress or master (like a good D&D group) won’t judge you if your acting is a bit stiff or not fully realistic. The most important thing is that you (and your partner or players) are enjoying yourself.

Leather

Not all mistresses and masters wear leather, but it’s a classic look for a reason. Often, they won’t wear a full leather outfit but will accessorise with leather collars or cuffs or even toys. D&D groups are much the same. At a regular gaming session, you might not wear a full leather ranger’s outfit, but accessories are definitely encouraged. And if you and your friends decide to go to a medieval festival or a Renaissance fair, then a full leather outfit would fit right in.

Dice

In Dungeons & Dragons, you use dice to decide almost everything. Whether you can see a hidden treasure or how much damage you do to a foe is all decided by the roll of a die. There’s even a huge market for custom dice to match you or your character’s aesthetic. Meanwhile, in the bedroom, you can use sex dice to decide your next move. There are a few different kinds, some with just fun positions to try or others that work in pairs, one for the action and the other for the body part. These dice can be more funny than erotic at times, but are a great way to add some humour to the bedroom. You can buy some at online retailers like Lovehoney.

Finding the right sex toy for you can be extremely difficult. There are so many different kinds, it can be hard to choose. This week, I’m going to help you narrow it down by telling you the pros and cons of the three main materials sex toys are made from.

Silicone

Silicone is the most common material for sex toys to be made from. It’s easy to clean, non-porous and great for transmitting tantalising vibrations. It can be used on a range of toys, like dildos, butt plugs, vibrators and many more. The main drawbacks of silicone-based toys is that they pick up fluff, hair and dust like you wouldn’t believe, so you’ll want to store them in a bag or drawer away from potential contaminants. You also need to be careful not to use silicone-based lubes, as they will degrade your toys over time, so stick with water-based lubricants instead.

Glass

Smooth, hard and gorgeous to look at, glass sex toys feel decadent against your skin. But they aren’t just beautiful, they are also perfect for temperature play. Whether you want to heat them up or cool them down, they can do both. They are also deliciously firm, perfect for hitting those internal pleasure spots. They’re also very easy to clean, just a rinse with hot water and then leave them to dry, and they’ll be ready for your next session. You can also use any lubricant you like; no need to worry about damaging your toy.
Looking at a glass sex toy, you might start to worry about it breaking, but don’t worry, they are made from borosilicate glass. Borosilicate glass is super durable and won’t shatter into lots of sharp little pieces if dropped.

Metal

Metal toys are very similar to glass ones. They are great for temperature play, durable, and compatible with all kinds of lube. Where metal toys excel is with weight play. If you enjoy a heftiness to your toys, then a metal toy will be perfect for you, and they come in a range of weights so you can find one that suits you best. Some metal toys can also work with an electric current. So, if you want to try out electronic stimulation, they are the toy for you. Just make sure you get a metal toy designed specifically for electronic stimulation.
