Presentation is a huge part of this industry so having a great outfit when introducing yourself can be a game changer! While the guidelines are different for outcalls or social dates, here are a few things to consider when meeting clients in an establishment.

House Rules

If you have only worked with one establishment, the difference between their rules and other places may surprise you! Some brothels have strict rules on presentation like ‘no flat shoes,’ or ‘lingerie only.’ Harlots typically sits at the more flexible end of the spectrum but if you are unfamiliar with the house rules, it’s always a good idea to ask!

Something That Suits You

While a neon pink bodysuit may look absolutely gorgeous on my girlfriend, the colour clashes with my complexion and I sort of end up looking like a gumball. Your complexion, hair colour, height and body shape will likely make some outfits less than ideal for you specifically. However, there will also be looks that only you can pull off! You should also consider the kind of outfit that suits your service the most; BDSM & Dominatrices will look the part in latex and leather while the cute GFE sweethearts will probably suit mini skirts and floral bralettes.

Practical Considerations

Now that you have picked out some outfits that comply with the house rules and suit you perfectly, there are just a handful of things to think about before calling it a day.

1. Can you get changed into and out of this quickly? Lace-ups and latex can look stunning but unless they have a sneaky zipper they may be too finicky and time-consuming to be practical.
2. Is it easy to wash? Especially if you are planning on travelling while you work, access to a dry cleaner may not be possible so having low-maintenance outfits can be handy.
3. Do you feel sexy in it? The confidence boost a great outfit gives you can be more important than the outfit itself! You should feel confident and sexy in whatever you choose to wear.

Take some time to explore the options available to you and keep in mind the practicality of working in these outfits. With a little trial and error (and maybe a girlfriend to bounce ideas off) you can find an assortment of outfits that make you look and feel incredible!

Sometimes the perfect picture just happens, but when you are trying to get a decent shot, posing seems awkward and uncomfortable. Here are a few pointers to help you polish up your photography game.

Hands

Where your hands are in a photo can be the difference between ‘effortlessly beautiful’ and ‘awkward robot-dance.’ Give your hands something natural to do. They won’t all work for all poses but here are some ideas:

• Playing with/adjusting lingerie, socks, long sleeves
• Scrunched in the bedsheets 
• Twirling/fixing your hair
• Run your finger tips over your body
• Hold a toy or prop
• Holding your dress/skirt

Feet

Just like hands, feet can make an image feel awkward or clumsy. The single biggest tip I can give you is to point your toes like a ballerina. Having your foot flexed (the opposite of pointed) disrupts the line of your leg and doesn’t look as well-composed. If you are struggling with what to do with your legs and feet, here are some ideas:

• A leg stepped up onto the edge of a bed, chair or bathtub (or someone’s back if you’re a domme)
• Legs up out of a bathtub
• One foot forward with a long, slitted skirt
• One or both legs in the air while you’re on the bed
• Crossed (but with your knees straighter than normal) in a chair or on a desk

Hips & Back

There are very few scenarios in which arching your back is a bad idea. Arching your back (a.k.a. sticking your butt out or tilting your hips/pelvis downward) helps create smooth lines from your head down to your hips and down your legs. It is particularly effective for adding shape and curve in positions like doggy or any photo angled from behind. For more front-on angles, pushing your hips to the side (usually accompanied by the ‘lower’ side foot taking a small step forward) can emphasise the shape of your figure.

If I had to pick my top three tips to give adult industry advertisers, it would be these: keep your hands busy, toes pointed, and back arched.
